Restorative Yoga
Join me on a Sunday evening for an hour of calming, relaxing Restorative yoga at the gorgeous, welcoming space that is Yellow Bamboo Yoga Studio in Portobello.
My hope is that you will give yourself permission to take an hour of rest, switching off your phone, getting quiet, and taking the opportunity just to breathe and be still, tuning in with your body, your breath and your mind.
Restorative yoga is a restful practice that is all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching.
It is a practice of deep relaxation that emphasizes the meditative aspect of yoga—the union of body and mind. Through the use of props for support, many of the postures are held almost effortlessly.
Restorative yoga is a great complement to more active practices (as well as our busy lives) and an excellent antidote to stress. Stillness is a powerful practice.
When the body enters a state of relaxation the mind can also consciously relax as tension is released from both body and mind. The only work that's required on your part during a restorative yoga practice is to pay attention to your breath and become aware of any sensations or thoughts that may arise.
My intention is to hold you safely and with compassion and care in this space.
The 60 minute yoga practise will consist entirely of floor postures, Please wear loose, comfortable clothing, bring bed socks and an eye mask if you wish. Yoga mats, bolsters and blocks will all be provided to enhance your experience and support you in the longer held postures. Everyone is welcome, no previous yoga experience required!

Yoga Nidra

During this class, you will be able to wrap yourself in a blanket, close your eyes and sink into a deeply relaxing guided meditation which promises to set you up for a deep restful nights sleep and a feeling of lightness and new energy upon waking.
